The Infinite Dreamer.
The idea for this necklace struck me so hard I abandoned everything else to make it. It’s the symmetry of nature combined with geometrical shapes. The base is a black triangle with a few silver colored glass microballs - a night sky. The gunmetal gray hexagon is adorned with tiny roses and leaves - the figure associated with chemistry combined with biological miracle - living plants. Then there is a circular shape of the moon, riddled with craters, and the Emperor Moth - the infinite dreamer - flying towards it, always trying, searching it’s way guided by the cold light.
I read a few things about what exactly is a ‘statement jewelery’, and I think if I ever made something I could call that, it’s this piece. Even if your dream will never come true, breath the cool night air in, look at the moon and spread your wings - it’s the flight that matters. :)
The necklace is big but really light. The moth wings are 125 mm wide (a little less than 5 inches) and it’s 105mm high. The leather cord is around 47cm, but there is a chain with the clasp that can make it another 8 cm longer.
The necklace is made of precolored metallic and classic polymer clay, vintage black Swarovski zirconias and glass microballs. The moth is made of mix of metallic and pearl polymer clay to give it a soft glow. The necklace is painted with satin protective varnish.
The necklace is handmade from scratch, without any molds or cutters. It’s ONE OF A KIND.
It’s signed on the back :).
(Crazy amount of work went into this but I’m pretty proud of how it came out :D. Made with a marathon of Breaking Bad as the background noise ^^.)
